Smolt Co. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates smoltco.com. This policy describes what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell it, and we're not clever with it.

What we collect

Information you give us directly: your name and email when you sign up for This Week's Path, submit a first-fish story, use the contact form, or buy something from The Bins. Standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) when you use the site.

How we use it

To send you the things you asked for (the newsletter, your order, your patch), to respond when you write to us, and to run and improve the site. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

First Fish Wall submissions

If you submit a first-fish story, the details you send (first name, age if you share it, species, water type, month, fly) may be published on the wall. We never publish exact locations — house rule № 04 — and we'll take your entry down any time you ask.

Third parties

We use a small set of processors to run the business: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, hosting, and analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Your choices

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link that works. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — write to the address below and a person will handle it.
